Chosen + Sent: A Day of Recollection

Saturday, December 8th, 2018 – 9:30 am to 7:30 pm

Young guys (18-35) are invited for a day of prayer and reflection at our priory in Orange, New Jersey. Before the business of the holiday season sets in, take some time to rest in God’s presence and reflect this Advent season. December 8th is also the solemnity of the Immaculate Conception.

 

The schedule is as follows:

9:30       Arrivals/ Welcome
10:00    1st Conference: “Chosen”-Br. John Paul.
11:30     Mass
12:30     Midday Prayer/ Lunch
2:30       Rosary – Br. John Timothy
3:30       2nd Conference: “Sent”- Fr. Philip Joseph.
4:30       Recreation (snacks)
5:00      Vespers and Holy Hour. Exhortation, music, scripture
6:30       Pizza and Fellowship
7:30       End/Departures

Clarification

The Congregation of Saint John has taken note of the news concerning the excommunication of an ex-member of the Congregation of St John who might wrongly be presented by news outlets as a Brother of Saint John. This person left the Congregation of Saint John 25 years ago. He is therefore no longer part of our religious institute, holds no responsibility in its name, and maintains no institutional connection with our Congregation. The excommunication decision concerns only the individual himself and pertains to his personal situation. It in no way concerns the Congregation of Saint John. The activities, commitments, and positions taken by this person are his own and do not in any way involve the Congregation of Saint John. The Congregation of Saint John reaffirms its full communion with the Catholic Church and its faithful attachment to the Holy Father. The Congregation carries out its mission in service to the Church, in communion with the bishops of the dioceses where the brothers are sent.
